About BA Film Studies, BA - at Regent's University London

This is an American degree, four years in length.

The Film Studies major offers a comprehensive study of film and knowledge of basic film production, as well as theories about film and its cultural meanings, values and impact.

You will develop an understanding of film history and aesthetics, as well as critical approaches to the study of film.

You will move from a general survey to specific, in-depth studies of genres, film-makers and theories. Upper-level courses focus on in-depth analysis of film genres, filmmakers, or international cinema.

Entry requirements

Applicants must provide evidence of successful completion of 12 years of schooling, with a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 in the American High School grading system or equivalent. This is calculated on a scale of 0-4, with a 2.5 roughly equivalent to a C+/B-. Other international qualifications will also be accepted. For those applicants whose mother tongue is not English, we also require evidence of English language proficiency. Please refer to our website for further details.
